About Us

Founded in 2023, ChessUnlocked was created as a result of a shared desire to give back to the beautiful chess community which had shaped us as people. What began as FreeChess, an online Club on Chess.com offering free lessons, educational articles, and discussions, quickly emerged into a larger endeavor

We realized that chess could be more than a game–it could serve as a bridge between people, a learning platform, a catalyst for change. Therefore, we expanded our efforts beyond the virtual board, organizing in-person events to promote chess on a community level.

 

At ChessUnlocked, our mission is simple. We hope to make chess more accessible, meaningful, and impactful–expanding and bringing the game to communities around the world.
